FPS celebrates 16th Raising Day

SAMBA, May 10: Fauji Public School, (FPS), Samba, an enterprise of Jammu and Kashmir Ex-Services League (JKESL) celebrated its 16th Raising Day with pomp and show in the school premises.
The GOC Tiger Division, Major General Sharad Kapur, YSM, SM was the chief guest while Ex MLC, Veteran Maj Gen Goverdhan Singh Jamwal, AVSM presided over the function.
BD Sharma DEO was the guest of honour.
The function began with the paying of homage to the saviour of Kashmir, Brig Rajinder Singh, MVC (Posth) followed by lighting of the traditional lamp. Earlier, Director FPS, Col Dr Virendra K Sah presented welcome address.
Jt Chairman Col KS Jamwal, VSM presented the school’s ‘Vision Document’.
President JKESL, Chairman FPS Maj Gen Jamwal highlighted the aims and objectives and the importance of learning while remaining connected to the heritage roots.
The school children presented a captivating cultural programme starting from Saraswati Vandana, depicting rich cultural variety of the vast nation through skits, dances and songs ending up with collective singing of the national anthem.
The School Principal, Anjana Sharma presented the school report elaborating the high academic achievements and remarkable exploits in the interschool co-curricular activities and active participation in social awareness activities.
The chief guest appreciated the school for the high standards maintained and assured to co-opt the school with the chain of Army Schools in his jurisdiction for various competitions.
