DODA, Dec 21: Firdous XI Doda lifted the title trophy of ongoing 3rd CPRF Public Friendly Cricket Tournament 2015 by beating New Siraj Doda by 26 runs being played at Sports Stadium Doda. The tournament was organized by 76 Bn CRPF in collaboration with Young Star Cricket Club Doda under Civic Action Programme.
Earlier batting first after winning the toss, Firdous XI Doda set a target of 156 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the alloted 20 overs. Riyaz Pal was the highest scorer who scored 59 runs while Zahid Rasool contributed 37 runs for his team. From New Siraj Doda, Mohsin and Khalid take 3 and 2 wickets respectively.
In reply, while chasing the given target, New Siraj Doda could not reach to the final target and was bundled out for 130 runs in 14.3 overs. Mohsin Nagar was the highest scorer who scored 38 runs while Waqar Wani scored 22 runs. From Firdous Eleven, Rafiq and Irfan clinched 3 and 2 wickets each.
Sr Superintendent of Police Doda Zahid Naseen Manhas was the Chief Guest while Addl Deputy Commissioner Doda was the Guest of Honor besides ACR Doda Vaibhav Kohli, Commandant 76 Bn Vikram Singh Thakur, 2IC 76 Bn CRPF Surinder Singh, Deputy Commandant Vishal Vig, Dy SP Hqrs Ab Qayoom Rounyal, Principal GHSS Boys Doda Tanveer Ahmed wani and Asstt Commandant 76 Bn CRPF Sunil Musharay were the special guests on the occasion.
Later on chief guest along with other guests distributed cash prize of Rs 10000 to the winning team while Rs 7000 was given to runner up team, besides Mohsin Najar of New Siraj was declared as Man of the tournament with cash of Rs 2000 for his best all round performance and Man of the match was given to Riyaz Pal for his best batting performance.
The match was officiated by Yasir Ali and Idrees Butt as Umpires while Waseem Raja acted as scorer.
