Faisal, Ridhik win titles in District Poonch TT C’ship

POONCH, Oct 10: Faisal clinched the men’s title by defeating Gagandeep in a straight sets by 11-8,11-7,11-5, (3-0) while Ridhik Kapoor trounced Zaffar Ahmed in junior boys in a close contest 3-2 (16-14,6-11,11-9, 5-11, 11-8) of the ongoing 29th Poonch District Table Tennis Championship, which concluded at the Multipurpose Hall of Govt Degree College, here today.
The Championship was organised by  Poonch District Table Tennis Association, under the banner of J&K Table Tennis Association in which more than 50 players participated in different age groups both in boys and girls section.
Er Saleem Banday, Secretary of the Association welcomed all the guests and spoke in length about the activities of the Association.
Rahul Yadav, Deputy Commissioner Poonch was the chief guest on the closing ceremony, who lavished praise on the organisers for organising the Championship and also popularising the game of Table Tennis in Poonch.
Ramesh Angral, Senior Superintendent of Police Poonch who was the guest of honour also congratulated the organisers for keeping the youth busy in sports activities and channelizing their energies in positive direction so that they could not involve in anti social activities.
Adil Hameed, Additional SP who presided over the function also appreciated the efforts of the Association for organising such a mega events.
Ajit Singh Jeet Jeet president of the association presented vote of thanks.
Dr. Khaleeq Anjum conducted the proceeding of the function.

Kuljit Singh, Narinder Singh, Jagjit Singh Nika, Imran Hussain, Rattan Singh, Ghulam Mustafa Manhas, Nirdosh Kumar, Rajinder Singh, Mohd Rafiq, Mohd Akram, Mukhtar Rathar, Imtiaz Ganai, Sarfaraz Peja, Ashu Ganai, Ashok Kumar, Ashfaq Hussain, Harvinder Singh, Sanjay Sasan, Ravinder Singh, Pamma Rauf Banday, Aninash Bhalla and Mohd Shakil.
