JAMMU, Apr 12: Evershine Cricket Club and Raja Cricket Club scripted convincing victories over their rivals to advance in the ongoing 1st Patel Memorial T20 Invitational Cup, being played at Parade Cricket Ground here.
1st Patel Memorial T20 Invitational Cup is being organized by Patel Cricket under the aegis of Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA).
The event is being organized under the supervision of Jung Bahadur Singh Jamwa,l President Patel Club and Vijay Sharma, Secretary of the Club.
In the opening match today, Evershine Cricket Club defeated Sai Cricket Eleven by 6 wickets.
Batting first, Sai Cricket Eleven scored 138 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 18 overs. Raju, Surinder and Sudesh contributed 40, 35 and 22 runs to the total resepctively.
From bowling side, Vikas took 3 wickets while Chamkor Singh and Bansi Lal claimed 2 wickets each.
In reply, Evershine Cricket Club chased the target in 16.1 overs by losing 4 wickets thus won the match by 6 wickets. Chamkor Singh top scored with 52 runs, while Narinder Singh and Baldeep contributed 30 and 23 runs to the total respectively. From bowling side, Sahil and Nakul took 2 wickets each. Chamkor Singh was adjudged as the man of the match.
In another match, Raja Cricket Club defeated Lakshmi Cricket Club in a close contest by 2 wickets.
Batting first, Lakshmi Cricket Club scored a decent total of 166 runs in 20 overs. Anuj Saini top scored with 60 runs, while Rakesh and Yuvraj chipped in with 29 and 21 runs resepctively. From bowling side, Vicky took 3 wickets, while Adil and Sachin took 1 wicket each.
In reply, Raja Cricket Club chased the target in 19.5 overs by losing 8 wickets. Billu was the top scorer with 59 runs, while Lakhan scored 33 runs and Munna contributed 27. From bowling side, Aman took 3 wickets, Sameer and Sant Baksh took 2 wickets each. Billu was declared as the man of the match.
The matches were officiated by Amit Gupta, Madan Mohan, Sadiq Hussain, Saleem-ur-Rehman and Rahul Kumar. Sohan Bharti was the commentator.
In tomorrow’s fixture, Shastri Cricket Club will lock horns with PCC (Seniors) at 9 am, while Vishal Rising Stars will take on Bhatia Cricket Academy at 1 pm in Under-16 Tournament.
