JAMMU, Oct 11: Founder and CEO, The International Centre for Digital Leadership Deepti Sawhney organized the Regional Chapter of the Annual Educational Technology Summit titled ‘Design, Technology and Change’ at Jodhamal Public School, here.
Apart from the host school, students and teachers from Government School, Deeli, Jammu Sanskriti School, KC International School and Model Academy participated in the event.
Speaking on the occasion, Deepti Sawhney said, “The main idea behind the Educational Technology Summit this year is to get the students thinking about empathy. Design thinking relies on our ability to be intuitive, to recognize patterns, to construct ideas that have emotional meaning as well as functionality, to express ourselves in media other than words or symbols. New ideas are what is going to provide salvation to the world. We need students to think about real and authentic challenges in the world today. We need them to think about the challenges that we face as individuals and society as a whole; also global challenges of health, poverty and education.  We need them to think of new strategies that result in differences that matter”.
The proceedings of the day included students presenting prototypes of their design thinking projects in the form of 3D models.
Trilok Singh Bist, Principal, Jodhamal Public School urged the students to enhance their skills and adopt strategies like Design-Thinking to work towards becoming future-ready.
