DYSS holds U-14 boys cricket trials

JAMMU, May 6: To pick the players for representing Jammu district in the forthcoming Inter-District Cricket Tournament, the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS), District Office Jammu held selection trials for Under-14 boys at GGM Science College Hostel Ground, here today.
179 boys drawn from various schools of Jammu district, eligible under the rules and regulations laid down in School Games Federation of India (SGFI), participated in this 2-day selection trials programme which got underway today and will conclude at the same venue tomorrow.
The trials were held under the supervision of the panel of experts from the department including convener Rajesh Dhar and members BK Tickoo, Jagtar Singh, Mohd Farooq,
Pankaj Sasan, Madan Mohan, Mukesh Sharma and Satika Sharma.
Earlier, Ved Prakash, Deputy Director Youth Services and Sports, Jammu and Tirath Ram, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Jammu visited the venue and interacted with the participating players to boost their morale.
The Officers served strict guidelines to the officiating team for fair selection of the probables.
