SRINAGAR, May 18: Dragmullah Dare Devils outplayed Karnah Knight Riders easily by 5 wickets to advance in the ongoing Kashmir Premier League (KPL) T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized jointly by Army, Department of Youth Services and Sports, Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association and J&K State Sports Council at various districts, here.
Earlier, electing to bat first after winning the toss, Karnah Knight Riders scored a meagre total of 93 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 9 wickets in the process.
Dragmullah, in reply scored the required runs in just 13 overs by losing 5 wickets, thus won the match by 5 wickets. Feroz Ahmed of Dragmullah Dare Devils was adjudged man of the match.
Meanwhile, in another match played at Sports Stadium Budgam, Budgam XI got better of Rangareth Royals in an easy contest. Batting first, Royals scored 127 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 15 overs, which Budgam XI chased in 13 overs. Bilal Ahmed of Budgam was declared man of the match for his fabulous show.
In yet another match held at Budgam, Rangraith XI thrashed Chadoora Tigers by 43 runs in a one-sided contest. Batting first after winning the toss, Rangraith XI scored 124 runs in the allotted 20 overs, while Chadoora Tigers in reply bundled out for a paltry total of 79 runs, thus lost the match by 43 runs. Reyaz Ahmad was adjudged man of the match.
Meanwhile, according to a statement received from Ashok Kumar, Deputy Director (Central) Youth Services and Sports, most of the matches scheduled for the day could not be played due to inclement weather conditions, which would be held later-on.
