JAMMU, Dec 2: Dr Varun Suthra, Director for International Relations, KIIT-KISS Universities shared dais with FIFA President, Gaianni Infantino and gave presentation as keynote speaker in FIFA event, organised by Swiss-Indian Parliament Group at Bern Switzerland.
Dr Suthra was special invitee in the event to showcase the possibilities of engaging Indian schools in football and holding of Under-17 Women’s World Cup India 2022.
He presented the state of the art facilities pertaining to sports infrastructure in KIIT-KISS Universities. Dr Suthra also urged the FIFA management to tap the potential of youths of Jammu Kashmir. “Jammu Kashmir has huge potential with a significant number of youths inclined towards football and they might prove their worth,” he added.
Dr Nik Gugger, President of Swiss-Indo Parliamentary Group moderated the event.
Speaking on the occasion, Gianni Infantino said that India with its large percentage of youth population has a huge scope to emerge as hotspot for the game of football. “Football would give a great hope to the youths of India. It has got the potential to produce future leaders,” said Infantino.
The session was attended by the members of Swiss Parliament and other eminent citizens. Dr Piyush Singh, First Officer from the Embassy of India to Switzerland was also present on the occasion.
