Dr Saleem’s all-round show goes in vain as SKCC registers thrilling win

JAMMU, Feb 23: Director General Youth Services and Sports, Dr Saleem-ur-Rehman’s top score of unbeaten 36 off 27 balls and 2 wickets went in vain as Sher-e-Kashmir Cricket Club (SKCC) defeated the employees’ team of the Department of Youth Services and Sports in an exciting contest on the last ball of the exhibition match played at Khel Gaon, Nagrota here today.
Earlier, batting first, DYSS XI scored 131 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Dr Saleem top scored with 36 runs, while Mukesh Sharma contributed 14 runs. From SKCC, Anmol and Ravi took 2 wickets each, while Jimmy, Rohan and Sushil claimed 1 wicket each.
In reply, SKCC chased the target on the last ball of the match. Vardhaan top scored with 51 runs, while Rohan contributed 29 runs to the total. Shalu and Anmol also contributed 16 and 15 runs respectively. From DYSS, Dr Saleem-ur-Rehman and OP Singh took 2 wickets each. Vardhaan of SKCC was adjudged as the man of the match.
