DPS organizes Inter-Section Dance Competition

JAMMU, Oct 20: To inculcate a strong bond of brotherhood, secularism and humanity among the students and to celebrate festivity, DPS Jammu organized an ‘Inter-Section Dance Competition’ for the students of class IV in the school premises, here today.
Eleven teams took part in the event for the purpose of encouraging mass participation of students of class IV in the competition. The dances were based on the theme ‘Festivity’, representing happiness, enjoyment and nurturing strong bonding irrespective of the religion or caste. They were a perfect mix of vivid expressions, vibrant costumes and immaculate coordination. The students danced to the beats of Bhangra, Garba and other festive dances. The dances were adjudged by Dr. Priya Datta, HoD Kathak Dept, Music and Fine Arts, Jammu, an expert in the field.
The winner’s trophy was bagged by class IV-A while class IV-E clinched the first Runner’s up trophy and the 2nd Runner’s up trophy was bagged by class IV-H.
At the end of the show, Dr. Priya Datta enthralled the audience by her own performance displaying the various aspects of Kathak dance.
Ruchi Chabra, Principal DPS Jammu and Meenu Gupta, Headmistress lauded the efforts of the students for putting up a good show.
