DPS Jammu organizes awareness programme

JAMMU, May 15: Delhi Public School Jammu organized an awareness programme titled “Empower HER: A Journey Through Puberty, Hygiene, and Well-being” to educate young girls about puberty, menstrual hygiene, emotional well-being and self-care.
Vice Principal Meenu Gupta, in her address, emphasized the importance of open discussions on adolescence and menstrual health, encouraging students to embrace this phase with confidence and positivity. The programme was attended by Deputy Headmistress Rimpi Sharma, Coordinators Prerna Malhotra and Anuradha Wadhera, teachers, and students.
A major highlight of the event was a Nukkad Natak titled “Breaking the Ice,” performed by students, depicting the emotional and physical changes during adolescence and stressing the need for support and self-acceptance. Students also participated in a practical activity, “Creating Comfort Kits,” promoting awareness about personal hygiene and self-care.
School Counsellor Supreet Kaur conducted an interactive session on “Understanding Puberty,” while Dr Anita Kotwal delivered an informative talk on menstruation and menstrual hygiene, addressing myths and misconceptions in a relatable manner.
Principal Ruchi Chabra appreciated the efforts of the organizing team and emphasized the importance of such initiatives in nurturing confident and informed young individuals.
