JKFA Professional League-2021 begins

SRINAGAR, July 12: 1st edition of Professional League-2021 kick started at Synthetic Turf TRC, wherein eight top teams of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir are participating, here today.
The first match of the tournament was played between Kashmir Avengers FC and Downtown Hero’s FC. Both the teams played quality game and missed some good chances of their teams, but in 42nd minute of the first half of the game, Kwesi Sessy of Downtown Hero’s FC scored a magnificent goal and took the lead by one goal to zero.
In the 55th minute of the game Downtown Hero’s FC consolidated its lead by scoring another goal by Hanan. The young turks of Kashmir Avenger tried their utmost to find the net but could not penetrate the solid defence of Downtown Hero’s FC, thus the match ended with Downtown Hero’s defeating Kashmir Avenger FC by two goal to nil.
The 2nd match was played between Lonestar KFC and Shaheen FC Jammu, wherein both the teams exhibited aggressive game in the beginning and made certain beautiful moves at the goal. The solid defence of both the teams denied the opportunity of scoring the goal, resulting in a goalless draw in the first half of the game.
In the 60th minute of the game, the Lonestar KFC missed an opportunity to score, while the Shaheen FC Jammu exhibited quality football and their man to man marking was superb. In the dying movements of the match, the Lonestar KFC players made a drastic move and took the lead by scoring a goal, thus Lonestar KFC won the match by one goal to nil.
The tournament is being organized by J&K Football Association in collaboration with J&K Sports Council.
SCFA will face Real Kashmir Reserves at 4:30 pm, while J&K Bank-XI to lock horns with Hyderya Sports FC at 6:30 pm tomorrow at same venue.
