SAMBA, Apr 12: Dogra Group of Colleges organized scholarship function to honour the academic achievements of its meritorious students. Professor Umesh Rai, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu, was the Chief Guest and Prof. Rajeev Rattan Sharma, Director, Colleges Development Council, University of Jammu as the guest of honour.
The ceremony was presided over by Gulchain Singh Charak, Former Minister and Chairman, Dogra Educational Trust. Additionally, the event was attended by students, academicians and professionals of Dogra Group of Colleges such as Dogra Degree College, Dogra Law College and Dogra College of Education.
The event commenced with the welcome address presented by Dr. Gitika Sehgal, Coordinator, Dogra Educational Trust. The event also witnessed the presentation of saplings and memento to dignitaries, recognizing their invaluable contributions in the field of education.
Students of Dogra Group of Colleges captivated the audience with a vibrant display of regional folk dance as a special cultural event. Dr Bela Thakur, Principal Dogra Degree College presented a brief PowerPoint Presentation that highlighted the accomplishments and distinctions of the Dogra Group of Colleges.
The meritorious students of Dogra Group of Colleges were also awarded with scholarships of around Rs 4 lakhs. Chief Guest, Prof. Umesh Rai, Vice- Chancellor, University of Jammu commended the Dogra Educational Trust for their scholarship program and expressed gratitude for their efforts in creating an environment that consistently inspires students and supports them in meeting their academic goals.
Charak appreciated the student’s accomplishments and encouraged them to strive for continuous and consistent hard work to meet the present Challenges and furthermore, establish themselves as a responsible citizen and serve the society.
Dr Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary Dogra Educational Trust, Dr Bela Thakur, Principal Dogra Degree College, Dr. Vikesh Kumar Sharma, Principal Dogra College of Education, Dr. Geetika Sehgal, Coordinator Dogra Educational Trust, Dr. Shefali Sharma, Management Representative, Dogra Educational Trust, Ramnik Bali, Programme Facilitator Dogra Law College and Shuchi Sharma, Academic Coordinator, Dogra Law College were also present on the occasion.
