JAMMU, Feb 25: An Inter-College symposium on the topic “Truth & Non-Violence”- Does Our Today’s Society Needs Gandhi Ji’s Principles for a Better Tomorrow” was organized at Dogra Degree College in its Conference Hall, here.
The aim of the symposium was to have a healthy discussion on the Principles of Gandhi Ji.
Th. Gulchain Singh Charak, Founder and Chairman of the Dogra Group of Educational Institutions, was the chief guest on the occasion, while Prakshit Singh Manhas, Director, School of Hospitality and Tourism was the resource person along with the Principal of the GGM Science College, Ajeet Angral as the guest of honour. The other dignitaries present on the occasion were Kr. Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary DET, Aijaz Qizar, Block Development Officer and S.C. Khajuria, Director Administration and Campus Development and Poonam Gupta, Principal Dogra Degree College.
The chief guest urged the students to read more from the life of Gandhi Ji and create such a society which respects everyone irrespective of one’s caste, colour, culture or creed.
Prakshit Singh Manhas, Director, SHTM, spoke about the relevance of Gandhiji’s tenets of Truth and Non-Violence in the present scenario and urged the students to follow these ideals in life.
Six teams one each from Dogra Degree College, Dogra College of Education, Govt. Degree College, Bishnah, G.G.M. Science College, Ranjit College of Education and S.R.S. Degree College participated in the symposium.
Navjeet Kaur conducted the proceedings of the programme, while Manjana Bhau, Lecturer, Dogra Degree College presented vote of thanks.
