SAMBA, May 6: Dogra Degree College organized a self-defence demonstration session for students, reinforcing its commitment to safety, empowerment and holistic development. The programme held at the auditorium of the Dogra Educational Complex, was conducted under the aegis of the college’s Equal Opportunity Cell.
The session aimed to address the growing need for personal safety awareness in today’s environment. Students were introduced to practical self-defence techniques, situational awareness strategies, and methods to respond effectively to potentially unsafe situations. Trainers demonstrated a variety of defensive maneuvers, escape techniques, and real-life response mechanisms, ensuring a hands-on learning experience.
Participants showed keen interest and enthusiasm, actively engaging in practical exercises. The structured training approach enabled students not only to learn physical techniques but also to develop the right mindset required for self-defence and confidence-building.
The programme was graced by Dr Bela Thakur, Principal of Dogra Degree College and Director of Dogra Group of Colleges. Her presence served as a source of inspiration for the students. Faculty members and programme incharges also attended and contributed to the smooth execution of the event.
The session concluded successfully, leaving students more confident, aware, and better prepared to handle real-world challenges, reflecting the institution’s dedication to meaningful and skill-oriented initiatives.
