Dogra Degree College holds Alumni Meet ‘Milap’

JAMMU, May 17: Dogra Degree College organized its Alumni Meet ‘Milap’ in the College premises, with an aim to reconnect alumni with their alma mater, here today.
The event began with the lighting of traditional lamps by the dignitaries.
Dr. Bela Thakur, Principal, Dogra Degree College welcomed the alumni and appreciated their zeal to assemble for the meet despite their busy schedule and called for greater participation of alumni for the development of the Institute as many of them hold positions of responsibility in various Government and Private organizations.
In her welcome address the Principal updated the alumni about new initiatives taken up by the College since the College was established in 2008.
Speaking at the occasion, Gulchain Singh Charak, former Minister and Chairman, Dogra Educational Trust, said, “We at Dogra Degree College are keen to provide all of our past students a platform to stay connected amongst themselves and also stay committed to the Institute and students across different batches including the present students.” He congratulated and blessed the alumni for their accomplishments and wished them luck for all the future endeavors.
Dr. Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary, Dogra Educational Trust delivered the keynote address and recalled the noble vision of the founder to provide quality higher education to everyone. He appreciated the team of Dogra Degree College for organizing the alumni meet which creates a special bond between the students.
Prof. Darshana Sharma, Director, DGC & CD, appreciated for having a good count of alumni that included old as well as recent batch passed out.
Around 50 alumni from across various batches had participated in the meet and promised to provide immense support towards the Institute through regular webinars, seminars, placement opportunities, guidance and motivation.
The event was hosted by Aditi Khajuria, faculty DDC, while vote of thanks was presented by Kanchan Dubey, IQAC Coordinator, DDC. The function finally winded up with the playing of the National Anthem.
