DODA, Oct 8: Doda defeated Rajouri and lifted the Pir Panjal Kabaddi League title at sports stadium, here.
This State Level Inter District Kabaddi Competition was organised by Army and contested by 7 teams from Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban, Rajouri, Naushera, Poonch and Reasi teams.
It was due to hard work of Army in selecting and training Doda team which enabled Doda team to win State level championship.
The event was followed by musical evening “Ek Mehfil Doda Ke Naam” where folk singer and budding singers of Doda participated.
As per locals Indian Army’s role in promoting peace and harmony through promotion of sports and culture is bearing fruit as evident from response of locals and youth of Chenab Valley.
Commander, Indian Army graced the event as chief guest, while CO, 2 IC of Army along with ADC, ASP, ACR and sports officials attended the event. First three teams were awarded with cash prizes of Rs 50,000, Rs 40,000 and Rs 20,000 respectively along with trophies and gold, silver and bronze medals.
