REASI, Nov 10: District Youth Services and Sports in collaboration with Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) today organised District Level Inter-School (DLIS) U/14, U/17 &U/19 Archery and Judo tournaments for boys and girls at Shrine Board Sports Complex Katra, here today.
About 40 young players of Government as well as private schools participated in this tournament.
In Archery Brishav of DPS clinched 1st place in U/14 category, while Bhawani of NSVM High School Rank bagged 1st position (Indian Round) in U/17 category and Divyansh DPS Katra stood 1st in U/19 category.
In U/19 categroy, Divyansh of DPS Katra and Ankush Thappa of GHS Aghar Jitto got 1st position in 300 and 50 mtrs respectively.
In Judo (girls), Mahi Sharma, Akansha Sharam and Muskan Devi and Suneha Sharma clinched Gold medals in 23 kg, 31 kg, 44 kg & 48 kg categories respectively whereas Manvi Devi, Laxmi Devi, Madhu Bala and Simran Sharma got Gold medals in U/17 category.
In Judo U/17 (boys), Tushar Sharma, Abhishek Kumar, Madhav Singh and Vishwas Jamwal won Gold medals in 50 kg, 55 kg, 66 kg and 73 kg categories respectively whereas Nitin Kumar got Gold in 60 kg U/19 category.
The matches were conducted by Ablisha Choudhary (Archery coach), Devinder Kour (PEM) Harpreet Kour, Pawan Khajuria, Vikas Verma, Danish Sharma (Judo coach), Rakesh Kumar and Rahul Bakshi.
Dr Sunil Sharma, Dy Chief Executive Officer of Shrine Board was the chief guest whereas Rajesh Sharma, Dy Manger of SMVD Sports Complex was the guest of honour. The tournament was organized under the overall supervision of Subash Chander Sharma, District Officer Youth Service and Sports Reasi.
