REASI, May 21: The Department of Youth Services & Sports, Reasi organized district level inter-zonal competitions for boys U-14 and U-17 in the discipline of Kho- Kho, Kabaddi, Badminton, Yoga, Chess, Carrom and Rope Skipping.
The event was graced by District Officer, Youth Services and Sports (YSS), Tarsem Singh as chief guest. More than 350 players across the 5 different zone of district Reasi viz. zone Chassana, zone Mahore, zone Arnas, zone Pouni and zone Reasi participated in the competitions.
In U-14 Badminton, Sumit Bhagat (Reasi) beat Amit Bhagat (Pouni) by 2-0 in Singles while in Doubles, Adish Rasyal and Nakul Bali (Reasi) thrashed Ashok Singh and Wasim Akram (Arnas). In U-17, Anirudh (Reasi) beat Dhruv Sadhotra (Reasi) by 2-0 in Singles while Arav Wazir and Rakshit Kapoor (Reasi) defeated Pankaj Sharma and Amul (Pouni) in Doubles.
In Chess U-14, Kanhaiya Raina (Reasi) bagged 1st prize, Muddassir Amhed (Reasi) 2nd and Satvik Mahajan (Reasi) 3rd whereas in U-17, Tanmay Jamwal (Reasi) stood 1st, Neeraj Singh (Pouni) 2nd and Divyansh Rajput (Reasi) 3rd.
In Caroom U14, Sahil Kumar (Reasi) beat Chaman Deep (Pouni) in Singles while in Doubles, Tasbir and Avish (Chassana) thrashed Mudassir and Zahir (Mahore). In U-17 Singles, Basharat Amhed (Mahore) defeated Dushal Singh (Chassana) whereas Arun and Anuj (Reasi) beat Naresh and Sunil (Pouni) in Doubles.
In Kho-Kho U14, Zone Reasi beat Zone Pouni by 16-12 while in U-17, Zone Reasi defeated Zone Mahore by 15-13. In Kabaddi U-17, Zone Reasi beat Zone Chassana by 14-10 whereas in U-14, Zone Mahore thrashed Zone Pouni by 12-6.
In Volleyball U-17, Zone Mahore defeated Zone Chassana by 3-2.
