REASI, May 26: The District Level Inter-School Silambam and Speedball Championships, being organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, District Reasi got underway today at Bhartiya Vidya Mandir, here.
District Sheep Husbandry Officer, Dr H S Rana was the chief guest, while DySP (DAR) Reasi, Jugal Kishore was the guest of honour.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were District Youth and Sports Officer, Reasi, Dr SS Chib, ZEPO Reasi, Om Prakash, ZEPO Chassana, Manohar Lal, Principal Bhartiya Vidya Mandir, Naresh Singh, Ram Lalji Sharma and a large number of locals.
Earlier, in “Vel Kambu Veechu” Silambal Under-14, Rohit Sharma of Amba Kids Katra emerged as winner and Vishal Puri of Trikuta Shiksha Niketan Reasi got second place, while in Under-17, Deeraj of Trikuta Shiksha Niketan clinched first place and Aman Sharma of Bhartiya Vidya Mandir got second place.
In Silambal , “Otrai Kambu Veechu” Under-14, Hari Om of Bhartiya Vidya Mandir clinched first place and Raja Mohd Asif of Amba Kids Katra got second place, while in Under-17, Sahil Verma of GHSS Reasi emerged as winner and Bharat of Trikuta Shiksha Niketan Reasi got second place.
