Shopian, Jan 25: The Taekwondo Association of District Shopian announced the District Shopian Taekwondo Championships 2024-25, set for January 29 and 30 at Batapora Stadium, Shopian. This prestigious event, held under the initiative “My Youth My Pride,” is organized in collaboration with the J&K Taekwondo Association and the J&K Sports Council. It is open to all Sub-Junior, Cadet, Junior and senior players from district Shopian.
Athletes competing in the championship will have the chance to qualify for the 27th J&K UT Taekwondo Championships. However, only medallists from this event will be eligible to represent the district at the UT level. JKTA Athlete Licenses are mandatory for participation, and entries without valid licenses will not be accepted. For Senior and Junior categories, possession of Black Belt Certificates is compulsory to qualify for the UT championships, in line with the rules of the Taekwondo Federation of India (TFI).
The weigh-in will take place on January 28 at 3:00 pm. Participants are required to submit registration forms, Aadhaar cards, JKTA licenses, and a Date of Birth Certificate for verification.
