KATHUA, Oct 16: The District Level Inter-Block Tournament under Khelo India for the year 2019-20 in the disciplines of Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Volleyball, Football, Wrestling and Athletics got underway at Sports Stadium and Govt HSS here today.
The Tournament is being held in the age groups of Under-17, Under-19 and above 19 categories.
District Development Commissioner Kathua , Om Prakash Bhagat, Chairman of Khelo India event declared the Tournament open in the presence of SSP Kathua Shreedhar Patil, DYSSO Kathua Sunil Kumar, DEPO Kathua Aruna Sharma and Nodal Officer Khelo India Shobha Biloria.
In Under-17 boys Volleyball, Hiranagar defeated Kathua (2-0) in the finals to win the title, while in Under-17 boys Kabaddi, Hiranagar thrashed Kathua by 12 points.
In Kho-Kho final, Hiranagar scripted a thrilling win over Kathua by one point.
In Under-19 boys Volleyball, Kathua defeated Hiranagar (2-0) to win the title, while in Kabaddi finals, Barnoti got the better of Kathua by 4 points and in Kho-Kho final, Billawar defeated Kathua by 5 points.
