JAMMU, Feb 19: District Jammu bagged the title trophy of the20th J&K State Sub-Junior/Cadet/Junior/ Senior Kyorugi/Poomsae Taekwondo Championship 2017-18 at Multipurpose Hall, MA Stadium, here.
District Srinagar emerged 1st Runners-up, while District Udhampur remained 2nd Runners-up in the Championship.
The Championship was organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Taekwondo Association in collaboration with J&K State Sports Council, under the aegis of Taekwondo Federation of India.
Around 800 players/officials are participated in this championship.
Waheed-Ur-Rehman Parra, Secretary J&K State Sports Council was the chief guest on the occasion, who interacted with the players and later-on distributed prizes among winners.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Noor Mohd, Administrative Officer J&K Sports Council, Ravi Singh, Divisional Sports Officer, DN Pangotra, General Secretary JKTA, N1sar Hussain Vice President JKTA, Ashok Singh Jamwal Manager MA Stadium, Satish Gupta Manager Indoor Complex, Raja Wahid Nabi, National awardee, Majid Dar, State Awadee, Ramesh Sharma Manager Brahman Sabha and Subash Shastri, National Mazdoor Sangh President.
This Championship was the selection trials for the players to represent J&K in the forthcoming Sub Junior Nationals which are going to be held in Pune from March 22 to March 25, 2018.
The technical team is being headed by Atul Pangotra (NIS) TFI Chairman Referee Committee, along with his team of officials namely Mukta Gupta, Brinder Singh Manhas, Sarbjeet Singh, Anu Priya, Rahul Verma, Zaheer Abass, Chand Mohd, Mohd Ali, Safdar Ali, Anil Singh Parihar, Nirender Sharma, Bilal Majid, Sourav Sharma, Arvind Satti, Amit Kumar, Lalita, Sunil Vaid and Bazila Mushtaq Dar.
