GANDERBAL, Sept 29: Three days long 2nd District Ganderbal Judo championship, organised by Judo Association of J&K under the aegis of J&K Sports Council, concluded at Sports Stadium, here today.
More than 500 students from different Schools and Clubs participated in this event. The students of below mentioned Schools and Clubs showed their tremendous performance in this event including River Hills Educational Institute Kachan, Islamia Hanfiya Harran, Hanfiya Guldirehman, Army Goodwill Kangan, DPS Sephora, Govt. Primary School Sephora, Govt. Middle School Sephora, and Khelo India Judo Centre.
The River Hills Educational Institute won the overall title and The Hanfiya Gundrahman stood second. Major Vinay (24RR Ganderbal) was the chief guest and Farooq Gandarbali was the guest of honour of this event.
In under-12 girls below16 kg: Aayat , Afra, and Adeebah Jaan won top three medals respectively, in below 21kg: Gold was won by Khansa, Silver by Falak and Bronze by Zohra, in below 24kg, the Gold was secured by Minha Bilal, Silver by Humariya and Bronze by Arjuman, in below 28kg, the Gold was won by Tahira, Silver by Zainab and Bronze by Afshana, in below 32kg, the Gold medal was secured by Hibbah-ul-Ismail, Silver by Ayma and Bronze by Flak, in below 36kg, the Gold was won by Baiza Tariq, Silver by Zainab Yousuf and Bronze by Tabiya, in below 40kg, the Gold was clinched by Iqra Shadi, Silver by Aqsa and Bronze by Tabasum, in under/15 girls in below 28kg: the Gold was secured by Arbeena, Silver by Mudabir and Bronze by Sayira Bronze, in below 32kg, the Gold was won by Falak, Silver by Arzoo and in below 40kg, the Gold was won by Aisha Hassan, Silver by Hadiya and Bronze by Saba, in below 44kg: the Gold was secured by Monina, Silver by Abiru and Bronze by Mehvish, inbelow 48kg: the Gold by Infa Farooq, Silver by Faiza and Bronze by Nafeesa, in below 52kg, the Gold was won by Anjum, Silver by Maroof and Bronze by Afreen, in below 57kg, the Gold was won by Saniya, Silver by Tamana and Bronze by Sameena, in bbove 57kg: the Gold was won by Atufa, Silver by Rufushia, in senior girls in below 57kg: the Gold was secured by Nargis, Silver by Masrat, in bbove 57kg: the Gold was clinched by Shaista, Silver by Rubeena, in open weight category of girls, the Gold was secured by Anjum, Silver by Infa Farooq and Bronze by Aysha.
