District Cycling C’ship organized

PULWAMA, Mar 16: Cycling Association of Jammu and Kashmir organized District Pulwama Championship at Khrew Township of Pampore, here today.
Around 60 cyclists from the town participated in the event. The cyclists were categorized into three categories according to their age group including sub-junior, junior and senior.
The event started with the senior category which was flagged off by Peerzada Javaid Masoodi (Organiser), Raies Ahmad (Chairman PWTK) and Mohd Ashraf Bhat (PT Coordinator). The senior category cyclists were followed by junior cyclists and sub-junior cyclists.
Afnan Showkat (Sub junior category) bagged the first position, while Arfat Mohiuddin -2nd and Adnan Altaf secured 3rd position. From the junior category, Maroof Farooq bagged the first spot, Irfan Mehraj-2nd position and Abid Javid- 3rd place.
Showkat Ahmad bagged first position in senior category, while Ajaz Qadri won 2nd position and Ishtiyaq Rasool clinched 3rd position.
The sub- junior category cyclists covered the distance from Khrew Bus Stand to Babapora; while in junior category cyclists were to cover the distance from Khrew Bus Stand to Shar-i-Shali and in senior category cyclists covered the distance from Khrew Bus Stand to Ladhoo.
The winners were awarded with medals and certificates, while the participants were given certificates of participation.
