DIG inaugurates Range level Cricket tournament

Doda, Feb 28: Dr. Sunil Gupta, DIG DKR Range inaugurated Range level Cricket tournament wherein a curtain raiser and trophy unveiling ceremony was held at District Police Line, here today.
The tournament is being organized under Civic Action Programme along with the banner Martyr’s Memorial Cricket tournament in the loving memory of J&K Police martyrs who laid down their lives to uphold the integrity and sovereignty of the Nation.
While speaking on the occasion, DIG Range, Dr Sunil Gupta said that the tournament will be played on league cum knockout basis, wherein 24 teams will participate from all the three districts.
He further added that for selection of eight member teams from each district, the tournament is being organized and presently sub-divisional level matches are being played at the respective districts. The winner will be awarded with a cash prize of Rs one lakh along with trophy, while the runner up will be awarded with cash prize of Rs 50,000 along with trophy.
The DIG also interacted with the media fraternity and apprised them about the forthcoming activities to be done in the Chenab Valley like ‘Mushaira’and ‘Wars of Bands at Bhaderwah under CAP 2022-23.
Abdul Qayoom SSP Doda, Kameshwer Puri ASP Bhaderwah, Jaswant Singh DySP Hqrs Doda, DySP Susheel Kumar, DySP DAR Doda along with the members and captains of the teams were present during the event.
