JAMMU, Sept 15: Diamond Cricket Club and Kishan Chand Cricket Club (KCCC) registered resounding victories over their rivals in the ongoing State Cricket Academy T20 Championship, being played at MA Stadium, here.
In today’s matches, Ravi Singh, Divisional Sports Officer, J&K State Sports Council Jammu and Vivek Sharma, former Ranji Trophy Player were the chief guests.
The chief guests were introduced with the teams on the occasion. They later-on presented man of the match awards to the winners.
Earlier, in the first match, Diamond Club defeated Simula Cricket Club by 25 runs.
Batting first, Diamond Cricket Club scored 134 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 18 overs. Minkel was the main contributor.
Simula Cricket Club, in reply, bundled out for 109 runs in 18 overs, thus lost the match by 25 runs. Gurvinder took 4 important wickets, which fetched him man of the match award, carrying a cash prize of Rs 500.
In second match, Kishan Chand Cricket Club defeated Khour Club by 9 wickets.
Batting first, KCCC scored a good total of 180 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 14.5 overs. Surayansh Raina scored 63 runs, Bandeep Singh 33, while wicket-keeper batsman Raman Thaploo made 28 runs.
From Bowling Side, Ajay and Ragu took 2 wickets each, while Munna claimed 1 wicket .
In reply, Khour Club collapsed at a meagre total of 36 runs, thus lost the match by a big margin of 144 runs. From KCCC, Ramdayal and Ajay took 4 wickets each, while Soumay Jain and Shubam Khajuria took 1 wicket each. Suryansh Raina was declared as the man of the match. He was awarded a cash prize of Rs 500.
