JAMMU, Apr 19: A 17-day Box Cricket Tournament organized at Inder Village, RS Pura concluded on a high note, witnessing enthusiastic participation and strong community support. The event was held in memory of Lala Sain Dass Gupta (Ex-MLC) and Vidya Devi and featured a total of 64 matches, providing a platform for local youth to showcase their cricketing talent.
Team Dhinday Kalan emerged as the winner after defeating Team Bhour Camp in a closely contested final. The winning team was awarded Rs 51,000, while the runners-up received Rs 21,000. Navdeep Singh was adjudged Man of the Match for his impressive performance in the final and was given a cash prize of Rs 5,000.
The closing ceremony was graced by MLA-Jammu South, Dr Narinder Singh, who lauded the organizers for successfully conducting the tournament and highlighted the role of sports in promoting discipline and positive engagement among youth. The tournament was organized by Jai Durga Traders under the leadership of Raman Gupta.
