RAJOURI, Nov 15: The youth and civil society of Rajouri turned up in large numbers at District Police Lines ground, here to witness the opening ceremony of the inaugural match of the Dhanidar Premier League, a much awaited event.
Brig Akhilesh Kumar, Cdr, 13 Sect RR was the chief guest on the occasion.
The first match of the tournament was played between Kings XI Rajouri and Ramban Warriors.
Eight teams are taking part in the tournament, The teams included Reasi Mountain Raiders, Doda Diamonds, Kishtwar Warriors, Rajouri Badshah, Kings XI Rajouri, Ramban Warriors, Poonch Royal and Nowshera Shera.
The organisers claim that the tournament has created a buzz in the entire Jammu region and provided a much needed platform for the youth of this region to showcase talent and sporting skills.
Kings XI Rajouri thrashed Ramban Warriors in the opening match. Faizan Dar was the star performer, who scored 39 runs off just 16 balls. This knock eclipsed Amir Wani’s innings of 73 runs off 42 balls.
