POONCH, Oct 8: Director General Youth Services & Sports (DG YSS), Dr Saleem-Ur-Rehman visited Sham Lal Hockey Academy and took stock of work in progress under augmentation of sports infrastructures, here today.
During his visit, he distributed playing kits among trainees of the Academy which was sponsored by management of the Academy.
The DG also interacted with players and advised them to work hard to achieve their targets. He also remembered the role and contribution of Lt Sham Lal Sharma, retired SAI Coach for uplifting Hockey culture in J&K especially among girls in Poonch district.
The management of the Academy thanked the DG for installation of Synthetic Hockey Astro-turf at Poonch.
Mohd Qasim In-charge DYSSO Poonch, Nirdosh Kumar In-charge Manager Sports Stadium Poonch, Narinder Singh ZPEO, PTI Mukesh Kumar and PEL Pawan Kumar (Hockey Coach) were also present during the event.
