JAMMU, July 7: Director General Youth Services and Sports J&K, Anuradha Gupta, inaugurated the Divisional Level Inter-District U-14 and U-17 Boys Football Tournament at Khel Gaon Nagrota and formally declared closed the fortnight-long Refresher Course in various sports disciplines at the Sports Training Centre/Base Camp Nagrota.
She was accompanied by Joint Director YSS Jammu, Dr. Vinakshi Koul, Deputy Director Central, Jitender Mishra, DYSSO Jammu, Sukhdev Raj Sharma and Rammurti Sharma, Incharge Refresher Course. The Refresher Course saw participation from 117 PETs and PEMs representing various districts of the Union Territory. They received expert training in Wushu and Table Tennis, both key events in the upcoming 69th National School Games, to be hosted by J&K.
Gupta emphasized the importance of training grassroots trainers and stressed that while participation is essential, winning medals should be the ultimate goal. She also assured employees that concerns regarding seniority and regularization will be addressed soon. In football, Poonch beat Kishtwar, Kathua defeated Doda and Udhampur overcame Samba.
