JAMMU, Dec 19: A meeting of all the District Officers of Youth Services & Sports Department under the chairmanship of Director General (DG), Youth Services & Sports (YSS), was held here at MA Stadium to review the youth and sports activities undertaken by them for the year 2014-15. Kanchan Bala, Deputy Director (PE), Haji Mirja Hussain, Deputy Director (Central) Dte.YS & Sports and all district Youth Services Officers attended the meeting. In the meeting it was decided that all the pending youth and sports activities shall be completed well in time. Moreover, two traditional games of Gulli-danda and Santolia were finalized for demonstrations by the J&K State in Himalayan Region Annual Sports to be held in Assam. All the District Youth Services & Sports Officers were directed to send all records of State Level Inter District Competitions immediately. It was also decided that a Scouting and Guide camp shall also be conducted at Ramnagar in last week of December and Rural Sports Mela shall be organised at Hiranagar in the month of February, 2015. It was also decided that snow skiing courses shall be held in Gulmarg in batches of 10 participants within available departmental assets. Block, District, State and National Calender for Rajiv Gandhi Khel Abhiyan (RGKA) for the year 2014-15 was also discussed. It was also decided to conduct Block and District level Sports Competitions by December and the State teams shall participate in National Women and Rural Sports Competitions.
