JAMMU, Dec 16: With regard to enhancement of cash awards that are given to sports achievers, Minister for Sports, Imran Raza Ansari while addressing a large gathering of outstanding sportspersons during felicitation function today said that a Committee headed by Director General, Youth Services and Sports has been constituted for giving recommendations. He said that DG Sports has also been asked to recommend playfields for renovation and development.
He also informed that enhancement of cash prize to National Games medalists will be increased to Rs 5 lakh for gold, Rs 3 lakh for silver and Rs 2 lakh for bronze medal winners.
