JAMMU, Nov 25: Delhi Warriors drubs Anantnag Cricket Club by 22 runs in the inaugural match of the Indian Unique T20 Cricket League, which got underway at Country Cricket Academy, Gharota, near here today.
The league which is being organized jointly by Young Star Cricket Club and 76 Bn CRPF, was inaugurated by Shantmanu Divisional Commissioner Jammu in an impressive and well attended function.
On the occasion, the Divisional Commissioner was accompanied by former Ranji player and Director Country Cricket Academy, Vivek Sharma; KC Sharma, Sarpanch Gharota; Narinder Singh; Pratap Singh and SHO Gharota, Jitender Singh, besides the organizers Manzoor Ahmad Butt, patron Young Star Cricket Club and Advocate Ahtshyam.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, Delhi Wariors rode on a superb innings of 51 runs by Dinesh and scored a fighting total of 132 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 7 wickets in the process. Sujeet Kumar also scored valuable 29 runs. For Anantnag CC, Mohd Yousuf scalped 4 wickets, while Liyaqat claimed one.
Anantnag CC, in reply, bundled out for 110 runs in 18.2 overs, thus lost the match by 22 runs. Mohd Yousuf (31) AND Imtiaz (14) were the main contributors. Rajkumar and Sujeet Kumar bgged 2 wickets each for Delhi. Dinesh was adjudged man of the match for his all-round show.
