JAMMU, Jan 11: A delegation of J&K ITI United Front led by its J&K president & national vice president, Nazir Ahmed Molvi; Naresh Sharma, vice president and Karan Singh, secretary along with other members met Atal Dulloo, J&K Chief Secretary and raised demands like re-organization of Skill Development Department.
Other demands raised by the delegation included merger/re-designation of various categories of posts borne on the establishment of Skill Development Department (Subordinate Services).
The delegation members said that recruitment rules have not been updated which have resulted in stagnation at various levels and more vacuum has been created in the department due to the retirements.
They said that more than 70 per cent faculty posts are lying vacant at present in the ITI sector of the Skill Development Department.
More demands included readmission of trades and release of pending salary of staff engaged under VTIP scheme and enhancement of salary of staff engaged under Self Finance Scheme at par with the other faculty engaged under normal scheme.
Placement of Head of the Institution/ADs post of which is lying vacant since long was among other demands.
The demand to maintain uniform designation of instructional staff and designating the post of Instructor and Group Instructor as Training Officer and Senior Training Officer was also raised along with the demand of post of Senior Training Officer on five units by DGT.
The CS gave patient hearing and assured the delegation for taking appropriate action on the demands.
The delegation also included Sanjeev Choudhary, Sajid Ansari, Manjeet Singh, Ravinder Sharma, Rahul Sharma, Shubram, Navneet Gupta and Daljeet Singh.
