‘Dekh Tamasha TV Ka’ bags 1st prize in skit competition

JAMMU, Sept 26: On the tenth day of “Display Your Talent” 2014-15, a Skit competition was organized by the Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu at Brig Rajinder Singh Auditorium.
“Dekh Tamasha TV Ka”, a skit in Hindi staged by a team from Government College for Women (GCW), Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, fetched the first prize whereas “Main Janam Kyoon Loon”, a skit in Hindi/Dogri stage by the team from Trikuta College of Computer Science and Management Studies and “Parachitt” a skit in Hindi staged by GCW, Parade, Jammu, adjudged as 2nd and 3rd, respectively.
The ‘Best Actor’ prize was awarded to Mridul Anand from Trikuta College of Computer Science and Management Studies, for his superb piece of acting in skit “Main Janam Kyoon Loon” while Samita Rana from GCW, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu bagged the ‘Best Actress’ award for her acting in skit “Dekh Tamasha TV Ka”.
The certificates of merit for individual acting were awarded to Damini Baloria and Megha Gupta, both from GCW, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu and Deepika from GCW, Parade.
Janak Khajuria, Sahib Singh and Bhupinder Singh, were the adjudicators for the skit competition while Dr Jaspal Singh was the teacher incharge for the event and conversant the participants with rules and regulations.
The programme was compeered by Anjusha B Sharma whereas Avisha Khajuria acted as the time keeper.
Among others, Prof Parmeshwari Sharma, chairperson, Campus Cultural Committee, Dr Ab Rashid Manhas and Dr Yudhbir Singh, Assistant Deans (SW), faculty members, teacher Incharges from various affiliated colleges, members, Campus Cultural Committee, Ifra Kak, cultural officer, Sumeet Sharma, Drama instructor, Rahul Sharma, secretary, Students Cultural Council, members of Students Cultural Council Scholars and students were present.
All the prizes and trophies will be given in the Prize Distribution Ceremony-cum-Grand Finale to be organized on October 1, 2014 in Gen  Zorawar Singh Auditorium at 3.00 pm.
