Deepanshi lifts title in Gulrez Memorial Tennis

JAMMU, June 7: Toppling Jasleen Kour by two sets to nil (2-0) in the summit clash in best of three sets, Deepanshi Ishar claimed the women open tennis title in the ongoing Gulrez Memorial Lawn Tennis Tournament at Police Lines Gulshan Ground, here.
Deepanshi defeated her rival in straight sets with the scores of 6-1 and 6-2 and reigned in the crown.
Meanwhile, in men’s doubles event, Saarthak Jain and Shrawan Bagati duo drubbed Nikhil Wazir and Mahim Jitendra pair by (1-6), (6-2) and (10-8) (super tie-break) and qualified for the finals.
The tournament is being organized by Friends Tennis Club, under the auspices of Jammu and Kashmir Lawn Tennis Association, under the overall supervision of Vikram Gupta and Gourav Arora. The tournament is being played in the memory of late Gulrez Singh Jasrotia, former lawn tennis player, who died in a tragic accident one year before.
