SHOPIAN, Feb 17: The Table Tennis Rolling Trophy (Women) was inaugurated by District Development Commissioner Shopian, Choudhary Mohammad Yasin at Indoor Hall of the college in presence of Convener Sports Committee, Prof. Tariq Hussain Mir and faculty members.
The tournament is being organized by the Department of Physical Education and Sports under the banner “Sports Festival for Kashmir Division Colleges” sponsored by Department of Higher Education, J&K.
In the first match of the tournament Govt. Degree College Nawakadal defeated Women College Srinagar by 2:0.
Speaking on the occasion, the District Development Commissioner Shopian highlighted the importance of sports and urged the students to participate in such events for positive impact and to inculcate sport culture across the valley.
