SRINAGAR, Oct 6: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Pulwama Mohammad Dar today kick-started the Divisional Level Under-17 and 19 Girls Softball Ball Tournament at DPL Pulwama, which is being organized by District Youth Services and Sports Pulwama.
Teams from all the districts of J&K are participating in this tournament.
Speaking on the occasion, DDC said the purpose of organizing such events is to nourish the sports talent and inculcate team spirit among the youth. He said the youth of the State have an immense potential to excel in this field.
DDC further said that time and again sports acted as fillip and passport to a better life. Such tournaments will give opportunity to budding players for participating further at State and National level tournaments and called sports as an emerging career in the modern world. He said that the need of the hour is that we have to harness the young and potential talent in positive direction and advised the youth to take part in the sports activities on a regular basis. He expressed hope that the youth of the area would work hard to bring laurels to the state.
On the occasion officials of Youth services and Sports Department were also present.
