KISHTWAR, Dec 10: District Development Commissioner (DDC), Ashok Sharma today flagged off a group of 10 students for snow skiing courses to be organised at Gulmarg by Department of Youth Services and Sports.
While interacting with the students, the DDC asked the students to take all precautionary measures of COVID-19 pandemic during their course and learn the skiing with dedication, so that you can bring laurels to Kishtwar by participating and wining the competitions at various levels.
He also complemented the Sports Department for organizing such events and said that these events helps the students not only to experience the rich flora, fauna and culture but also develops endurance and helps in maintaining their physical fitness.
The DDC also asked the DYSSO Kishtwar to ensure proper boarding and lodging arrangements of the students during travel and stay at Gulmarg.
“Students for different skiing courses have been selected from different zones of Kishtwar,” said DYSSO Kishtwar, Kharati Lal Sharma.
Meanwhile, District Youth Services and Sports Department Ramban today also dispatched a boys contingent to Gulmarg Kashmir from Ramban to learn skills and innovative techniques of snow skiing.
DYSSO Ramban Dharamvir Singh flagged off the contingent comprising 10 students, selected from the different institutions of district Ramban.
Activities in-charge, Arun Kumar Sharma beside other officials of the department were also present during the event.
It is pertinent to mention here that the snow skiing training camp is being organized under the patronage of Dr Saleem-ul-Rehman, Director General Youth Services & Sports J&K.
