DC declares UT level Sqay C’ship open

SRINAGAR, Mar 14:  District Development Commissioner, Aijaz Asad inaugurated UT level Sqay Martial Art competitions for boys and girls, organised by Department of Youth Services and Sports at Youth Hostel, here today.
While declaring UT level inter-district championship open, the DC stressed upon the stakeholders to provide every possible help for the deserving youth of the UT for showcasing their talent in different fields especially sports. About 200 girls are participating in the championship.
The welcome address was presented by Joint Director Kashmir Youth Services and Sports, Bashir Ahmad. He also presented a detailed report about the activities of the department and stated that District Srinagar figured among the best 7 districts in terms of sports during the previous academic session at national level.
Selected girls from various districts of the UT are participating in the mega championship, which is being organized under the supervision of Principal Secretary to Government Youth Services and Sports Department Alok Kumar and Director Gazanfar Ali.
Meanwhile, the DC also released the Activity Calendar of DYSSO Srinagar for the year 2022-23 in presence of Aijaz Ahmad DDC Member Srinagar, DYSSO Srinagar Balbir Singh and many other senior officers and officials of the department concerned.
The guests also interacted with the participating players/teams that are representing different districts in the UT level tournament. Proceedings of the function were conducted by Shah Shabir Ahmad.
