JAMMU, May 3: DBN Vidya Mandir Amarvilla, in collaboration with the Global Association for Initiatives in Medical Services (GAIMS) J&K hosted a health awareness session focused on cancer prevention and early detection in women. The event honoured the crucial role of mothers while emphasizing the importance of their personal health.
Led by medical experts from GAIMS, including Dr. Rakshit Goel, Dr. Aradhya Gupta, Dr. Ishwin Kour, Dr. Akriti Sharma and Dr. Rochak Chopra, the session was part of GAIMS’ Project Suraksha. Topics included HPV infections, cervical and breast cancer, importance of screenings, self-examination, and HPV vaccination.
Delivered with sensitivity and clarity, the doctors addressed often-taboo subjects like breast self-exams and cervical health, making participants feel at ease. An interactive Q&A session saw enthusiastic participation from mothers, students, and teachers.
Participants also shared emotional stories of loved ones affected by cancer, reinforcing the need for early detection and community support. Principal Ranju Malhotra expressed gratitude to GAIMS and encouraged attendees to spread the awareness further.
