KATHUA, Oct 14: Bharat Vikas Parishad organized District Level Inter-School National Group Song Competition in the premises of Nav Adarsh Higher Secondary School, here today.
On the occasion, Rajiv Jasrotia, MLA Kathua was the chief guest, while Dr Bharat Bhushan, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kathua was the guest of honour. The function was attended by a large number of members of civil society, representatives of various NGOs and social organisations.
Prof Ram Murti Sharma, Chief Patron welcomed the guests and highlighted the aims and objectives of Bharat Vikas Parishad.
A total number of six screened teams participated in the competition. The team of DAV Higher Secondary School was adjudged first, RMC Higher Secondary School and DS Heritage Scholars School secured second and third positions respectively.
Rakesh Sambyal, Kapil Thapa and Shakti Bachhan were the jury members for the competition.
MLA and Additional DC while speaking stressed upon the need of developing patriotism and national character among the youth.
Later, the mementoes and participation certificates were presented to the participating teams by Er PC Gupta, Kapil Dev Sharma, RS Gupta and other members of the executive body.
In the end, Gandharb Singh Katal, Vice-President presented vote of thanks.
Among others present were Sardar Khan, Rajni Kant Sharma, Bansi Lal Sharma, KK Pargal, Kuldeep Sharma, Kartar Singh Lakhanpuria, Babu Ram Bhagat, Kulbir Singh, Guru Dutt Sharma, Pitamber Dass, Thuru Ram Mahajan, Amarnath and DC Sagotra.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by RS Katal.
It is worthwhile to mention that the team securing the 1st rank will participate in State Level Competition scheduled to be held in Abhinav Theatre Jammu on October 15.
