JAMMU, Nov 1: Outplaying their rivals convincingly in the quarterfinals clashes, Dashmesh Club, Nanak Nagar and Ajit Club Gole Gujral, have made it to the semifinals of the ongoing 1st Baba Fateh Singh Memorial Hockey Tournament, being organized by Hockey J&K at KK Hakhu Astroturf Stadium, here.
Earlier, in the first match played today, Dashmesh Club thrashed Hiranagar Club by eight goals to two (8-2) in an easy contest to seal berth in the semifinals. For Dashmesh Club, Ravijeet Singh Amarjeet Singh scored 2 goals each, while Raman, Ravneet, Gagandeep and Sikander Pal netted one goal each. Ravijeet scored the goals in 20th and 40th minutes of the match, while Amarjeet netted back to back goals in 48th and 50th minute of the match. Raman, Ravneet, Gagandeep and Sikander Pal scored the goals in 22nd, 38th, 42nd and 46th minutes of the match. For Hiranagar Club, Abhinandan and Daljeet Singh netted the goals in 44th and 52nd of the match.
In another quarterfinal match, Ajit Club Gole Gujral defeated Shaheed Bhagat Singh Club by six goals to two (6-2). For Ajit Club, Manpreet Singh scored 2 goals in 8th and 56th minute, Gurpreet Singh, Jaspreet Singh and Taranjeet Singh netted goals in 6th, 46th and 52nd minute of the match. Gunpreet Singh scored both the goals for Shaheed Bhagat Singh Club in 4th and 13th minute.
The match was officiated by Jeet Singh, JS Reen, Iqbal Singh, SP Singh, Gurdeep Singh Bakshi and Harcharan Singh.
The tournament is being held under the overall supervision of MS Reen.
