JAMMU, May 26: The Inter-Zonal District Level Competitions for U-14 and U-17 Boys continued with great enthusiasm on the second day at Khel Gaon Nagrota, SD Sabha School Rehari and MA Stadium Jammu.
The tournament is being organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports under the patronage of Director General YSS J&K Anuradha Gupta, under the guidance of Joint Director YSS Jammu Inderjeet Singh and overall supervision of DYSSO Jammu Sukhdev Raj Sharma.
In the U-17 Handball competition, Zone RS Pura defeated Zone Bishnah by 11-5 in the first semifinal, while Zone Jammu outplayed Zone Gandhi Nagar by 12-4 in the second semifinal. In the final, Zone Jammu emerged champions by defeating Zone RS Pura by 15-8.
In U-17 Volleyball, Zone Dansal registered a 2-1 victory over Zone Jammu, while Zone Bhalwal defeated Zone Bishnah by 2-0. Zone Jourian also secured a 2-0 win against Zone Satwari. Later matches saw Zone Bhalwal beat Zone Dansal by 2-0, Zone Jammu overpower Zone Bishnah by 2-0 and Zone Dansal defeat Zone Bishnah by identical margins.
In the U-14 Volleyball category, Zone Arnia defeated Zone Akhnoor by 2-0, while Zone Khour registered victories over Zone Marh and Zone Gandhi Nagar by 2-0 sets each. Zone Arnia also beat Zone Miran Sahib by 2-0.
In the U-14 Cricket competition, Zone Dansal defeated Zone Khour by 68 runs.
