JAMMU, Mar 26: Danish Sharma and Shweta Thakur won gold medals in 81 kg boys and 63 kg girls categories respectively in the ongoing 17th State Open Judo Championship, being organized by Jammu and Kashmir Judo Association at Judo Hall, MA Stadium, here.
In 81 kg boys, the silver medal went to Raj Kumar, while the bronze medal was claimed by Manish Chetwal.
In 63 kg girls, the silver and gold medals went to Poonam Sharma and Yasmeen Nazir.
Around 300 Judokas drawn from all over the State participated in the Championship and the participating districts included Kathua, Jammu, Srinagar, Samba and Leh.
R C Thakur, Service president J&K Judo Association presented medals to the winners in presence of Ravi Singh, Manager, Indoor Complex, M A Stadium.

Junior Under-17 Boys; 55 Kg medals were claimed by Munish Sharma, Anmol Abrol, Adil and Aryan, while in 60 Kg, Shashank Baru, Noman Mushtaq, Shubam Singh and Vishesh bagged the medals.
In Under-20 boys, 73 Kg, Tajamul Wagir, Zahid Farooq, Abhimanyu and Abhey Salgotra Won the medals, while in Open category, Sourab Kumar, Shubankar Baru and Suniya Khajuria were the medal winners.

Bouts are being officiated by Suraj Bhan Singh, Arshinad, Vikas Dogra, Ritika Slathia, Jugal Kishore, Shafakat Shafi, Shakti Gupta and Rameshwar Singh Jamwal, while the Championship is being organized by Vikas Gupta General Secretary J&K Judo Association, under the aegis of J&K State Sports Council and J&K Olympic Association.
