SAMBA, June 29: A ‘Dangal’ competition was organized by the Nud Dangal Committee in Samba today in which a large number of people participated.
Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) district In-charge, Samba, Thakur Narayan Singh was present as the chief guest, while Co-Incharge Munish Khajuria, District Development Committee (DDC), Nud Kartar Chand, Municipal Corporation Samba, President Pawan Kohli were present as the special guests.
The wrestlers from different parts of the Union Territory and outside States participated in huge numbers and showcased their skills during Dangal which was also witnessed by local spectators in large numbers.
The wrestling started with prize money of Rs 200 and the last fight reached to Rs 31,000, which was fought between Sagar wrestler of Delhi and Kaka wrestler of RS Pura and ended with a draw. The second match of Rs 25,000 was fought between Ankush Pehlwan of Delhi and Sonu Pehlwan of Haryana, which Ankush, the Delhi wrestler, won. The third match worth Rs 21,000 took place between Tinku Pehelwan of Rohtak and Sonu Pehelwan of Punjab, which the Tinku wrestler won.
Dangal Committee Chairman, Ajay Singh said that a total of 57 wrestling matches were organized in the wrestling competition. The chief guest, Thakur Narayan Singh handed over cash prizes to the winning wrestlers. Prominent among present on this occasion were Councilor Vinod Singh, Sarpanch Surinder Singh, Ramesh Singh, Rishu Sharma, Balbir Kumar, Jaswant Singh, Gurdev Singh and Karan Singh.
