KISHTWAR, Oct 2: Dachhan Cricket Premier League, being organised by the Indian Army, commenced on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti at Sondar village, here today.
The tournament is being organised with an aim to provide an opportunity to the cricket talent of Dachhan region, foster spirit of sportsmanship amongst all the youth of the region and also encourage positive engagement towards sports.
The tournament witnessed overwhelming participation as 36 teams registered themselves for the competition. This is the 3rd edition of the tournament which has already gained widespread popularity in the earlier two editions.
Officials from the Army appreciated all teams for participating in the tournament and encouraged them for a good and healthy competition abiding by the rules of the game. The first match was played between Kanday Strikers and Young Squad Janakpura.
The tournament will have a total of 35 matches, with the final match scheduled to be in 3rd week of October.
