JAMMU, May 30: A month-long project on Heritage under the British Council’s International School Award (ISA) programme culminated into a cultural evening at Mandua Open Air Theatre, here.
The show was presented in front of the parents of about 100 students taking part in it.
The global partners of the School on this project in the current academic year Malaysia and Palestine.
The programme was a delectable mix of folk songs, folk dances and folk theatre and the main objective of the cultural evening was to showcase the cultural heritage of the State of Jammu and Kashmir for the partner schools of Malaysia and Palestine.
In an effort to extend school partnerships beyond the exchange of mere information, students of KC Public School also performed the folk dance of Malaysia on the occasion.
A short play on the life of the legendary local hero, Bawa Jitto was also presented on the occasion.
The last item of the programme was the street play, ‘Lost Humanity: A Paradise to Regain’, which conveyed the positive message that the youth of India is capable of restoring the lost humanity and bringing about peace, brotherhood and harmony in the country.
