JAMMU, Nov 5: Cueists showed serenity and displayed guts and grit to vie for the top honours, when they locked horns against each other in the first round of the Senior Snooker District Champi-onship, as part of the ongoing 23rd Jammu District Junior and Senior Billiards and Snooker Championship, being organized by J&K Billiards and Snooker Association at MA Stadium, here.
Earlier, Jatin Basin toppled Nouriz Gafoor (3-0)by(51-44,61-38,58-38), while Akash Chetri got better of Rohit Manhas(3-2)by (43-50, 57-24, 53-7, 45-77, 49-15), Manik Sharma outplayed Samarth Amla(3-2)by (41-40, 40-42, 55-48, 46-53, 24-51), Rahul Singh Jamwal prevailed over Sahil Dogra(3-0)by (49-44, 57-42, 51-36),Jaswinder Singh beat Akshit Gupta (3-0)by (75-17, 89-10, 75-15), Aman Sharma drubbed Aman Choudhary (3-0)by (57-27, 52-40, 67-31), Karan Singh trounced Gurjeev Singh (3-2)by (49-31, 48-22, 19-40, 26-47, 57-26), Mandeep Singh and Furkan Wani got walkovers against their rivals, Mohit Mahajan beat Hridul Manhas (3-0)by (56-29, 51-12, 65-46 and Satya Jeet drubbed Deepu Singh (3-0) by (61-8, 72-13, 74-18).
Marker Prakash Sharma conducted the matches, while the matches are being held under the supervision of organizing committee headed by Jaideep, Gurjeev Singh and Sohail Khalid.
